2022 NI Stobi Projects

The 2022 program of the National Institution Stobi includes 14 projects, seven in the field of immovable cultural heritage protection, four projects in the field of museum activity and protection of intangible cultural heritage, and three projects in the field of investment maintenance, insurance, adaptation and procurement of equipment.

 

All of these, a total of 14 projects, will be financed by the Ministry of Culture, covered within the framework of the Annual Program for Realizing the National Interest in Culture for 2022.

 

1. Protection of immovable cultural heritage:

- Conservation and restoration of a segment of the southern city rampart and the southern gate in Stobi (stage 1 and stage 2) - 1 500 000 MKD;

- Realization of the Basic Project for the conservation of the architectural remains of the Residential and Commercial Quarter from the early Byzantine Stobi - 1 200 000 MKD;

- Conservation, restoration, reconstruction and archaeological investigations of the Roman Theater in Stobi - 1 600 000 MKD;

- Archaeological investigations and conservation of fresco painting and architectural parts of the Old Episcopal Basilica in Stobi - 600 000 MKD;

- Current maintenance and partner arrangement of the archaeological site Stobi - 1 200 000 MKD;

- Preparation of the Basic Project for the conservation and restoration of the architectural decoration from the Building with arches in Stobi - 30 000 MKD;

- Creation of a basic project for the conservation and restoration of the preserved marble elements from the auditorium of the theater in Stobi - 30 000 MKD.

 

2. Museum activities and protection of intangible cultural heritage:

- Realization of the Basic Project for conservation and restoration of ceramic and glass vessels from the collection of NU Stobi - 200 000 MKD;

- Basic project for the conservation of metal objects from the collection of NU Stobi - 200 000 MKD;

- Purchase of equipment (industrial steam cleaner) for the needs of a conservation laboratory - 150 000 MKD;

- Realization of the Basic Project for the conservation of metal archaeological material from the archaeological excavations in Stobi in the period from 2013 to 2018 - 100 000 MKD.

 

3. Investment maintenance, insurance, adaptation and procurement of equipment for the institution:

- Procurement and installation of windows and doors in the working premises of NU Stobi - 84 501 MKD;

- Electronic security system and video surveillance equipment - 500 000 MKD;

- Restoration of night illumination of the archeological site Stobi - 2 000 000 MKD.

 

In addition to the projects financed by the Ministry of Culture for 2022 also includes two projects of an international nature:

 

- The project "Europos - Palatino - Stobi - European past and future cultural values" as a donation from the European Commission through the Management and Development Body of the IPA cross-border program Greece - Macedonia and

- The program "IMMERSIUM Heritage Field Schools" within the project "Collaboration for immersive storytelling for dissemination and promotion of the cultural heritage of the Western Balkans", supported by the European Union through the "Creative Europe" program.
